RaSa Aquaculture · Grow-out, grading & export · Sri Lanka

We farm it,
grade it,
and ship it.

RaSa raises whiteleg shrimp (Penaeus vannamei) in managed open grow-out ponds on Sri Lanka's west coast, and sources black tiger (Penaeus monodon) and white prawn from established producers in the same districts — all graded, chilled and packed to buyer specification.

Who we are

Built for buyers who audit their supply chain.

RaSa operates its own open grow-out ponds for whiteleg shrimp and buys tiger and white prawn from established producers in the same districts. Both streams are graded, packed and shipped against a written buyer specification.

Every lot carries a batch reference from the pond or the landing site through to container seal. Product is graded by count before packing and held in cold chain to loading.

Running our own ponds alongside a partner network is deliberate. It gives us a base volume we control end to end and the reach to fill a larger order without breaking specification. Where a consignment is sourced rather than farmed, we say so on the documentation.

Species

Three species, one standard of handling.

All three move through the same intake, grading and cold-chain discipline. Tell us the species and the count grade and we will quote against it.

Whiteleg shrimp

Process

Two sources. One standard.

Product enters from our own ponds or from a partner producer. From that point it is handled identically — the same grading, the same records, the same cold chain — so what reaches the container does not vary with where it came from.

How a consignment moves through RaSa Two intake streams feeding one common chain. The upper stream is RaSa's own grow-out ponds, where whiteleg shrimp is harvested to order. The lower stream is partner producers, supplying tiger and white prawn against an agreed count grade. Both converge into the same three steps: graded by count, packed to the buyer carton specification, then sealed and loaded at Colombo. A single batch reference line runs beneath the whole chain, marked at every step, assigned at stocking or intake and carried through to container seal. Stage 01

Grow-out & intake

Whiteleg shrimp is raised in managed open grow-out ponds under RaSa control and harvested to order. Tiger and white prawn are bought from established producers in the Puttalam, Chilaw and Negombo areas to an agreed count grade. Pond or supplier is recorded for every lot.

Stage 02

Grading & packing

Graded by count on harvest or receipt, then packed to your presentation and carton specification.

Stage 03

Cold chain & export

Held to the agreed chilled or frozen regime and loaded at Colombo. The batch reference follows the consignment through to container seal.

Product

Graded to count. Packed to your specification.

Every species is available in all three formats. Grading, presentation and packing are adjustable against a buyer specification — tell us the format and we will quote against it.

Quality & traceability

Traceability that starts at the pond, not at the paperwork.

Traceability is not a document produced at the end. It is the record that accumulates from stocking, or from the moment a partner lot is received.

  • Batch reference assigned at stocking or intake and carried through to container seal
  • Species, and originating pond or supplier, recorded for every lot
  • Water quality and feed recorded per pond across the grow-out cycle
  • Graded by count against the agreed specification before packing
  • Cold chain maintained from intake through to loading, with temperature logs available on request
